Podcast: Silk Roads Past and Present

This month, Peter Frankopan, author of an article in our October issue, The World We Have Lost, joins us to discuss his new book, The Silk Roads: A New History of the World, and the importance of viewing history from a global perspective.

Plus: History Today columnist Mathew Lyons, who wrote about the plight of young academics in our September issue, joins Catherine Fletcher, associate professor at the University of Swansea and author of a blog post that responded to Mathew's piece, to talk about the 'betrayal' of early career researchers.
