Institutions such as libraries, schools, universities and colleges can purchase multi-user access to the History Today online archive.
We offer two types of institutional access:
This allows unlimited access for a particular IP address (or address range), meaning that any number of users can have simultaneous access, without requiring a username or password; for off-campus access a username and password is also supplied. This article explains more about IP ranges and how to find out yours.
Please note that the price for institutions in the EU is higher, as we are required to charge VAT.
Institutions in the European Union (including the UK)
Institutions not in the European Union:
This allows up to 10 simultaneous users, and requires entering a username and password to access.
Please note that the price for institutions in the UK is higher, as we are required to charge VAT.
How to use
Institutions with 10 Login access can use their username and password to log in.
Institutions with IP Access should be able to automatically log in, once you have provided us with your IP address.
To automatically log in, click the 'Sign In' button at the top of the site. You will then be directed to the sign in page, where you should see a link reading 'Click to log in automatically' (see image below).
If this message does not appear then contact us to ensure that we have your correct IP address details. If it still doesn't work it could that be your IT security settings are preventing our site from automatically validating your IP address, in which case you'll need to log in using your username and password.
