York St John University lies in the heart of the beautiful and historic city of York in north-eastern England, and if you are interested in studying history at degree level, you could not find a more conducive setting. Walking through the city you can witness for yourself influences that stretch right back into the past, to the Roman period, when York was known as Eboracum. York also has a vital industrial past, as an important transport hub with its renowned railway station, engineering workshops and now its world-famous National Railway Museum. Today, York is acknowledged as a world tourist site, as well as a modern financial services centre. Here at St John University, we have created a History degree programme which is as broad and extensive as the history of York itself.
