
There's a remarkable similarity between the late Beatle and the wartime leader of the Serbian Chetniks...

Could they be related? On the left is a hirsute John Lennon; on the right is Draza Mikhailovic, leader of the Serbian Chetniks during the Second World War. At least, we think that's the right way round.
The image of Mikhailovic is from the article Propaganda in the Balkans, about Britain's wartime attempts to undermine the Nazi domination of south-east Europe. You can read it in the September issue of History Today, which is out next week.
