Why do so many terrorists come from an engineering background?

For example, that a knowledge of the past will help us improve our decision making in the future, though the best reason I know for studying history was given in these pages by Chris Wickham, Chichele Professor of Medieval History at Oxford: that it was ‘simply very interesting’. However, it may have a more important role to play.
