Vakataka

Indian dynasty in the Deccan, said to have been founded by Vindhyasakti in about AD 260. From about 400 they were allied with the Guptas, but they took advantage of the Hunas invasions in the late 5th century to seize an empire in central India. The last known Vakataka king was Prithvishena II (c.470).
