Tet Offensive

(January-February 1968) Major offensive of the Vietnam War launched by North Vietnam and the Viet Cong during the Tet holiday truce period. Most towns and cities in South Vietnam were attacked, completely surprising the American and South Vietnamese forces - a psychological victory for North Vietnam.
