A glossary of historical terms
Tehuacan
Desert valley of central Mexico, occupied from about 9000 BC, where especially dry conditions have preserved organic materials and artifacts, including evidence of very early agriculture (the cultivation of peppers and squashes by c.6000 BC). This provides a detailed picture of cultural change in the region.
