Qasr-i Shinin, Treaty of

Agreement of May 1639 between the Persian Shah Safi and Ottoman ruler Murad IV that ended more than a century of frontier dispute. It assigned Erivan to Persia and Iraq to the Turks, and created borders very similar to those between Iran and Iraq today.
