Pheidias

Greek sculptor of the later 5th century BC, considered one of the greatest sculptors of the ancient world. He was responsible for the massive statues of Athena in the Parthenon and of Zeus at Olympia. He probably oversaw the sculptured reliefs of the Parthenon.
