Olduvai Gorge
A complex of ravines in the African Rift Valley, Tanzania, containing early hominid remains (Homo habilis, Australopithecus robustus, Homo erectus and Homo sapiens), and the longest sequence of Paleolithic tool industries (c.2.1 million- 15,000 ya), with a succession of Oldowan, Acheulian, Middle Paleolithic and Upper Paleolithic assemblages.
