Kassites

Indo-European speakers from the Zagros mountains (Iran-Iraq border) who settled in Mesopotamia in the 16th century BC. They established dynasties in several cities, notably Babylon, imposing feudal rule. They were assimilated by Babylonian aristocracies and native populations. The Kassite dynasty of Babylon was destroyed by Elam in the mid-12th century BC.
