Kaskas

Tribal people of the mountain areas of northern Anatolia in about 1600-1200 BC. They are mentioned by the Hittites, who saw them as a major threat because of raiding. Campaigns to control the Kaskas were largely unsuccessful, and in the 14th century BC the Hittites built forts to protect their northern frontier.
