Avebury henge

Late Neolithic enclosure in southern Britain, built in about 2800-2500 BC. It consists of a massive circular embankment, about 425 meters (1,394 feet) in diameter with an interior quarry ditch, enclosing the three largest stone circles in Europe. The site was approached by an avenue of standing stones, 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) long, which lead from another stone circle (the Sanctuary). Silbury Hill is located to the south.
