Aspero tradition

Cultural tradition of the Andean Preceramic period that produced the first ceremonial monument complexes in South America (c.3000-1800 BC), with sedentary settlement and an increasing reliance on agriculture. It is named after the site of Aspero, one of the earliest ceremonial sites in lowland Peru (c.2600 BC).
