Ariovistus

Germanic leader who invaded eastern Gaul in about 70 BC and fought with the Sequani Celts before dominating the region in the 60s BC. Despite an earlier alliance with Rome, he was defeated by Julius Caesar in eastern Gaul in 58 BC.
