Antigonos

(c.382-301 BC) Macedonian commander who sought to win control of the empire of Alexander the Great after the latter's death. He was outmaneuvered by rivals until he was killed at the Battle of Ipsus, but his grandson (also Antigonos) regained control of Macedonia and established a stable kingdom.
