Alwa

A Christian kingdom of Nubia, situated below the confluence of the White Nile and Atbara rivers, and extending beyond the confluence of kthe Blue and White Niles. Its capital was at Soba, near modern Khartoum. It was overrun by Arab tribes in the 16th century.
