Ahura Mazda
The chief god of Zoroastrianism, the religion of Achemenid and Sasanian Persia first preached in the 7th century BC. Ahura Mazda, also known as Ormazd or 'supreme knowledge,' was said to have created the world and the twin spirits of good and evil. He was associated with good in its struggle against evil.
