Adad-nirari II

King of Assyria (r.911-891 BC), who initiated renewed Assyrian expansion and the establishment of the Neo-Assyrian empire. He undertook campaigns against Aramaeans and Babylonians, securing Assyrian dominance in central Mesopotamia.
